As I opened the link for the primer assignment, I was immediately intrigued. The title of this video was: “The Deadliest Killer in Human History.” In the opening it was called the “captain of death”, the “forgotten plague”, or even the “consumption (because of the severe weight loss and the way the infection appeared to “consume” the patient.” This disease would become known as tuberculosis. This was an unknown disease that effected every 1 out of 7 people.

Hamlet is a powerful story of love, life, revenge, and death. The themes within the play are written to live on for eternity. It is difficult to fully and accurately represent a play as great as this one. The movie that we watched in class did not wholly represent the wonders and the magnitude of the themes within Shakespeare’s work.

Significance of passage 2.2.13-94 In Shakespeare’s Macbeth, passage 2.2.13-94 is significant because of the use of metaphors, character, and the theme topic guilt. Specifically, the passage is significant because of the metaphors that create images of sleep as a positive necessity(Jabbur). Also, this passage is significant since it highlights the change of Macbeth from a “brave” general to a cowardly killer(Naveenan). Finally, this passage is significant because it [reveals] unearned successes and ill-gotten achievements will be ruined by guilt(L’Heureux).
Despite living under and receiving funding from absolutists, this famous playwright’s work still includes consequences from an oppressive regime. Shakespeare’s subtle assessment conveyed through plant imagery exemplifies his introspective view of human nature; by reinventing plots with human flaws, Shakespeare stays relevant into the 21st century, and is deemed one of the greatest English playwrights of all
During this play of Hamlet by Shakespeare, Hamlet is approached with crazy situations that make him act out of the ordinary. Such as the vengeance he has for the killing of his father. He isn’t actually crazy but acts like it throughout the play because it is all part of his plan to kill Claudius. As the play continues his act of a maniac becomes better and better which then leads to the other characters actually believing him. But he is not really mad, he is just acting to fulfill the duty to his father.
“O, that this too too sullied flesh would melt, Thaw and resolve itself into a dew, Or that the everlasting has not fixed, His canon ‘gainst self-slaughter! O God, God, How weary, stale, flat, and unprofitable, Seem to me all the uses of this world!” (1. 2. 133-138) These few lines goes to show my view on Hamlet being insane.

The four tragedies of Shakespeare were written during this time when it is also the middle period of his career. So his works in this period were filled with sorrow and resentment. He uses theatrical elements, such as the troupe of actors, to hold up a mirror to the real world. Despite most of the events in these tragedies being placed under a questioning light, Shakespeare is able to provide a medium with which one can look at life’s
Viruses are all over the world and can travel around the world quicker than you or I can. Since viruses travel so quick it is difficult for humans to get ahead of an outbreak. The movie Contagion is a good example of how quick viruses can spread. In the movie a character named Beth is traveling home from China and soon after arriving home she dies due to unknown reason. When the CDC looks further into Beths death the notice that others from around the world have died in the same manner and had the same side effects as Beth.
