The English language and the Western world’s adaptation of the way literature is written today is mainly attributable to Shakespeare’s literary writings. His writings include comedies, tragedies, romances, histories, sonnets, plays and other poems. His formation of an acting company supported many writers, musicians and artists who shared his passion and ideas during that time. He introduced “the English sonnet”: quatrains (four-line stanzas) with alternate rhymes, followed by a concluding couplet) (Fiero 151).
William Shakespeare is known as the world’s greatest poet and playwright. Hamlet, Macbeth, Othello, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, King Lear, and Romeo and Juliet, are some of the most amazing pieces of literature that are still studied to this day. These plays made him so significant in writing and the other arts, that high school students, college students, and others still study him today. Though hundreds of years later, he is still known as the greatest playwright and poet the world has ever known, many question whether he even wrote the many works he is famous for creating. Many also question whether Edward de Vere, a contemporary of Shakespeare, and a poet himself was the true author of these works.
At first glance, Playwright William Shakespeare was not the first person you would guess for greatness. Surprisingly, he was not born to a family of nobility or wealth. He did not continue his education at a university after school, nor did he get taught by a senior and experienced artist. Furthermore, he did not marry into prestige or wealth. In summary, Shakespeare was a genuinely talented actor and playwright, who got fame without having the starring roles in plays.

Throughout the last decades of history, the traditional family structure held to dearly by the United States has begun to crumble. At the time of the creation of the Globe Theater, the theater business was booming. Queen Elizabeth loved the theater and the arts, and theater companies sprang up across England. Though popular, the theater business was often scorned because of its coarse humor.

Romeo and Juliet: A Renaissance Novel Romeo and Juliet belongs in the Renaissance movement due to its examples of individuals being different from their groups, rediscovery of the classical, and individuals deciding for themselves. One example of an individual being different from their group is seen when the nurse, Juliet, and Lady Capulet are speaking to each other in Act 1, scene 3. In this scene Lady Capulet has a difficult time silencing the nurse 's pointless talk while Juliet silences her with a single sentence. This shows that Juliet is not the same as her group because she easily shows her superiority over the nurse while Lady Capulet cannot. In the Renaissance Era women typically were seen as weak.
“William Shakespeare’s Impact on Theater” says that “Theater, in particular, has experienced many changes due to his influence,” and without any major influence like Shakespeare to guide the changes of theater, it would be extremely different (Octane 1). Shakespeare introduced many new elements to theater because of how his writing was unique in his time period. Despite this, his writing appealed to many different audiences. For instance, Octane says that “The way in which Shakespeare’s plots move forward has helped define modern play-writing. Similarly, Shakespeare’s complex characterizations have brought forth a new type of storytelling in which characters’ choices drive plots forward” and “His plays were often imbued with universal truths of human existence, rather than acting as mirrors of the privileged life.
Shakespeare’s Hamlet Ruler Hamlet of Denmark is urged by his dad 's Ghost to retaliate for his homicide on account of the dead lord 's sibling, now King Claudius; to aggravate matters, Claudius has hitched the widow, Hamlet 's mom, Queen Gertrude. Denmark is under risk of attack from youthful Fortinbras, who tries to recapture terrains lost to Hamlet 's dad by Fortinbras ' dad. Claudius sends word to the King of Norway (Fortinbras ' uncle) to control Fortinbras ' hostility. Meanwhile, Hamlet pretends franticness with his family and companions, including his dearest, Ophelia, sister to Laertes and girl to Polonius. Both Polonius and Laertes caution Ophelia against Hamlet 's affectionate advances.
