A Story Well Told Art is found in many forms that stretch through the ages, all of them have found a way into the human heart but only one is almost completely dominated by one name. Shakespeare, honorary ruler of the play world, has taken over the play world for around 200 years. In this time people have and still do remake his plays. But to understand the master of the play you must first examine his life, from birth to the first play, to his death. All of these lay a part in the reasons and the heart behind each of his plays. But to fully understand them you must first understand him. Arguably the most important aspect of Shakespeare’s life is his childhood. It is the spring board that all of his other endovers leapt off of. He was born the eldest surviving son of eight children, to John Shakespeare a successful Glover. As a young boy he attended the Kings New School, the modern day equivalent of a public school that was extremely close to his house. He was married at the young age of 18, to a 26 year old Anne Hathaway. The two had twins together and moved to London where Shakespeare began his career as a playwright. He retired from his play writing only a few short years before he died. Perhaps the most interesting thing is one short month after writing his will he passed away. Interestingly the will that he wrote clearly states that he was in perfectly good health. No historians are quite clear on his death Shakespeare but there are a few different major trends that historians believe in. The night before Shakespeare died a close friend of his claims that he had so much to drink and that he contracted a fever and died.
