The novel that I choose for my position paper is She said yes written by Misty Bernall .She said yes is about the life of Cassie Bernall one of the 15 victims of the first school shooting at Columbine High School. Cassie was asked by one of the gunman do you believe in God? “She said yes”. Through out Cassie life she has had to face a lot problem but at the end she put her faith in God. This novel is related to the topic of Conscience, because Cassie had to identify good as good and evil as evil. This was a very hard transition for her because with out them she had no sort of identity, it was also a hard transition because her old friends did not make it easy for her they use to throw things on her lawn and try to contact her. Cassie parents and her best friend Mona’s parents had a meeting with the sheriff and at the meeting Cassie’s parents were accused by Mona’s parents of it being Cassie fault that their daughter was into this sort of thing and that she changed Mona, they also talked about how they were making a big deal out of about this.
