Concerning this week’s discussion, I will be expanding on how the Sherwin-Williams paint and coating company is being viewed in the local and international markets using a SWOT analysis. The acronym “SWOT” stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. The strengths and opportunities of a company highlight in what arenas are the company performing well while the weaknesses and threats of a company indicate in what areas the company needs to improve to remain on top of its competitors. Sherwin- Williams is a paint and coating manufacturing company that has been in operation for over 150 years (Sherwin Williams, 2022). Its primary strengths include its global reach, the large variety of products it offers, its workforce consisting of highly-qualified employees, and its large capital structure while its weaknesses include its inability to keep up with the latest trends as a result of the scarcity of raw materials at times and its business model being too simple to stand a high probability of being easily replicated by its competitors (Shastri, 2022). …show more content…

Some of these opportunities include its technological advancement in creating eco-friendly products that may represent its ethical business practices to voluntarily take part in the corporate social responsibility to protect the environment while maximizing its profits and its potential to increase its revenue streams if they seek independent expansion in India where these products are in high demand (Shastri, 2022). However, despite the great opportunities present, the Sherwin-Williams company still has risks that may pose threats to its sustainability in the local and international markets.
