According to USA Today in 2013 professional athletes were earn anywhere from 0.16 million to 5.15 million depending on the sport they play. Athletes make millions just by providing entertainment for people. Teachers on the other hand, only earn up to $55,360 for molding children to be great citizens. People who are teachers, doctors, police office, firefighters, and the military should be paid more than professional athletes, they keep the world safe and only get little pay for it.
To Begin with doctors earn from $315,000 to $156,000 according the US news study from 2011. The same doctors that are there when people are going in for a checkup or take care of their sprain your ankle may only be making $170,000 a year. The surgeon that saves people’s lives every day only gets about $270,000. Without doctors how would take care of athletes when they get injured. These are the people fighting in wars and protecting our freedom. The people who risk their lives for us are getting paid less than the people providing entertainment for us, does that make sense? The point is athletes should not be getting paid more than military personal!
