A sixteen year old boy was darting down the sideline where he met a linebacker, and he took a helmet-to-helmet hit. He laid on the turf insensate as the ambulance came rolling in. It was his third concussion that year, and he died later that night. According to the National Center for Catastrophic Sport Injury Research, there were seventeen deaths across all levels of football in 2013 mostly from hits to the head.
