Should Cursive Writing Be Required Essay

Should cursive writing be a required skill for high school graduation? In my oppinion, yes, it should be required. There are many reasons behind this, but I will list only a few. These reasons being brain excercise, memory devolopment, and hand eye coordination.

Lets start with brain excercise, cursive writing has been proven to work parts of the human brain that typing or printing does not. For example, there have been cases wehre a person has sustained a serious head injury and can no longer read or write in print. However, when said person is given a passage to read thaat is written soley in cursive they can read it just fine, and not only can these people read cursive, but they can also write in cursive perfectly fine. The reason for this being, is cursive is stored in both the left and right sides of the brain because it forces your brain to work harder to not only read or write, but also forces your motor skills to work in excess to

even as i am typing this essay, before i ever started typing i wrote down information to help me remember my main points, topics, and facts. Even if one is to use a seperate document to record notes, main points, and so on. there is onr thing that can never be replicated in to type. that is our signature, the one thing that is our very own when it comes to handwriting, its the one thing that is consistently different from everyone else's. you cannot type your name on an official document, or a reciept, or anything of the sort. These things require your signature to verify that it is actually you that is signing your name on that paper. And what is your signature wrote in? Cursive. Perhaps not everyones signature is wrote in this style, but then again, not everyone's signature is legible
