Should fast food restaurants be held accountable for people getting sick? This question has been asked for a while now and nothing seems to happen on both sides. Companies still heavily advertise fast food and people are always lined up in the drive throughs every day. There are so many environmental and work problems that make people go get fast food. Companies know this so they will continue to make fast food chains. They also know how to cover themselves by saying we don’t recommend people eating fast food every day. This reminds me of tobacco companies and how they must put on the box that the cigarettes will cause cancer. You get use to eating what is already prepped because there is no time to make your own meal. It does fall on us as a society though to be responsible and know what will happen if we always eat out. Health is very important and understanding ways to prep food so we don’t eat out all the time is key. It doesn’t help that the advertisements are always shoved down our throats. I always see an ad for Taco Bell, MacDonald’s and Burger King regardless of where I’m watching media. Different places try to appeal to different genders as well. You see Taco Bell have ads for steak burritos and the fourth meal for men. Carl’s Junior had an ad recently this year that shows two bikini models holding burgers on the beach and playing volleyball. The ad gives off a false image to women as they never actually eat the burgers they just try to say women can eat like this and still look good.
