Food is our source of energy that gets us through the day, we resort to fast food during our busy day only because it fits our lifestyle, fast and cheap, however it's really unhealthy and contain an extreme amount of calories. According to the article, "Still A Fast Food Nation" by Eric Schlosser, he claims because of fast food, the majority of the population in America is overweight or obese. (Schlosser 1) As described in the article, “Yes, Healthful Fast Food is possible. But Edible?,” by Mark Bittman, with the creation of a food movement, it created the possibility for a healthy lifestyle for most of them. Bittman stated that Lyfe Kitchen guarantees their food doesn't contain less than 600 calories (Bittman 7). Ells claimed that the food served at Chipotle is packed with calories as well. When you hear the word "healthy" you think of dieting and ability to lose weight. However, while they are good for you, even healthy foods can make you gain weight without calorie control and exercising. While I'm not a fitness trainer or a weight-loss coach, from experience, 600 is a little too much for one meal, especially for someone who lacks the ability to go to the gym because of their busy day. Some sort of work out is important however, whether it's skating/walking to class or walking up/down the stairs at the parking garage at least it's something. Typically everyone's body is different and we all have different ways and speeds of converting the calories to energy. I believe a combination of healthy and a good calorie intake with an intense workout routine really makes a difference if one wants to lose weight. Four years ago, I found out I was obese. When someone becomes obese they become more prone to encounter many health problems whether they ate healthy or not, so I set a goal for myself to handle an intake of 1800 calories a day with an intense work out for me to lose 65 pounds to get on
