On October 09th, 2015 at approximately 5:30 PM, I, Investigator James Poffel was the on-call investigator and was contacted by dispatch in reference to responding to The Days Inn for a call of a kidnapping that patrol officers were out on. Officer Wilkins was the officer originally dispatched to t hat location and was on-scene awaiting my arrival. I spoke with Officer Wilkins while I was en route to his location. Officer Wilkins informed me they were sent to The Days Inn, room #104, at 900 S 32nd St to check the welfare of a subject by the name of Kayla Blevins. Dispatch received the call from Kayla’s grandmother, advising Kayla was being held at that location against her will, for a $1,000.00 ransom.
