I believe that the French, Haitian and American Revolution were similar and different in many ways. The revolutions had important leaders, George Washington, Napoleon and Toussant L’Oerture. I feel that they were socially similar because of the Enlightenment, which was a source of inspiration for change. They where also similar in political way because they all had constitutions. Many consider these two revolutions to be scarily similar to one another, but when you dig deeper into this area of discussion, you can see that the two revolutions are perhaps not as similar as many would think. Of course there are the obvious similarities, for example the fact that they both occurred during the later eighteenth century and that both undermined the power of existing, monarchical governments. The main difference between the American and French Revoultion was that one successfully converted to a democratic government and one did not. The French Revolution was not successful in forming a democratic government due to France’s history of a monarchy, economic issues and divison among its’ people.
