Both the American and French revolutions took place around the same time. Citizens were fighting to change a political system called a monarchy. These revolutions have many similarities. But with every similarity, comes a difference. These differences are clearly seen through the revolutions. There were many goals and causes that came from both revolutions. The American Revolution was caused by the thirteen colonies who wanted to break off and be free of Great Britain. Their goal was to control and govern their own selves. On April 19, 1775, the 13 colonies rebelled and that’s what started the American Revolution. The French Revolution was caused by political conflict. It was a conflict between the monarchy system and tax that eventually
