Angelo Buono and his adopted cousin Kenneth Bianchi had started working with one another (Angelo Buono Biography, n.d.). Both Angelo and Kenneth agreed that in order for them to make a sufficient income they should get young prostitutes to work for them in the sex trade; in turn, they would receive money from the young women (Jennifer Cable, Travis Hall, Brittney Hornsby & Amanda Howe, 2012). The cousins had acquired a list of prostitutes from Deborah Nobel and Yolanda Washington; however, this list was false and the girls had lied to them (Cable et al., 2012). Angelo and Kenneth had found out that his list was falsified; they became angry and wanted to seek vengeance for what Deborah Nobel had done (Cable et al., 2012). The ages for the victims ranged anywhere from 12 to 28 years old (Chaleff, 1988). Buono and Bianchi would would strangle the victims to death and many of the autopsies reported instances of aggressive torture (Chaleff, 1988). The killings were slow in procedure to ensure that the victim had felt every ounce of pain (Cable et al., 2012). Buono would kill frequently and the murders were random; this caused moral panic throughout Los Angeles (Chaleff, 1988). The cousins had also experimented with lethal injection (Cable et al., 2012).
