America, much like China also has a long history leading up to the build of the United States Government. Although America’s history isn’t as long there where many historic events that have happened to create government we have today. From arriving to America on boats and settling with Native Americans to The American Revolutionary War, the independence of America to the first elected president, George Washington to the build up of our national government including the executive, legislative and judicial branch. America is a Federal Republic, “a country that is governed by elected representatives and by an elected leader [such as a president] rather than by a king or queen” (Merriam Webster 2017). The saying that America is a place of freedom for example is a slogan that Americans have used for the longest time but most people aren’t free. With the immigration rates fluctuating and hate crimes going up, the thought of freedom is taken for granted and used profusely. It’s not what it once was, to have freedom isn’t what it is in America is about anymore. It seems like false hope in the eyes of Americans.
