Book three of Mere Christianity, by C.S. Lewis, commences by discussing moral rules, which are directions for the good human life. Moral ideals may be preferences but are not moral obedience or aiming for high morals. Morality is concerned about three things; first, fair play and harmony between individuals; second, cleaning up and improving or harmonizing the things inside each individual and third, the general purpose of human life, what we are made for, what the inventor/creator wants. Modern people think in the first way and lose the other two. Lewis next discusses cardinal or pivotal virtues which include Prudence, Temperance, Justice and Fortitude.
Confucian beliefs within the Han dynasty shaped a government of benevolence that believed social relations and education were necessary for function, while Legalist principles of the Qin dynasty influenced governmental hierarchy and the discouragement of education. In the Han dynasty, Confucianism stressed the idea of Filial Piety which was the recognition of reverence for the source of life. Filial Piety was put in place to enable both parent and child to flourish through their cooperation of one another. Confucians were fond of applying the family metaphor to the community so when families were thriving, communities were considered thriving as well. Politics within the Han dynasty adopted this technique and soon believed that rulers should set example through moral leadership and exemplary teaching based on the way families operated.
Confucianism is the philosophy that would be the most stable comparing to Legalism and Daoism. First of all, the goal of Confucianism was to have a society that was peaceful and just. This means that Confucius wasn't a violent man. It shows that he wanted peace. His purpose wasn't to rule everything around him; it was the complete opposite.
Daoist philosophy places emphases on an instinctive awareness, supported by balanced contact with nature, and rejects everything that is not natural. The principles of the Daoist encouraged isolation from humanity for personal development in nature and attaining balance between yin and yang. Confucian philosophy seeks order and social stability. The philosophy states that junzi (superior person) who has ren (human heartedness), exemplifies the ideal social order sought. An individual could become a junzi by promoting certain qualities like understanding of suffering and a quest of morality and righteousness.
Daoism and Confucianism share various aspects such as the origin. Daoism and Confucianism both originate from China in which neither of them was intended to be a religion. However, most scholars and adherents treat the two philosophies as religions. Daoism and Confucianism interpenetrate and complement each other like yin and yang and they are evolving dynamically. Daoism and Confucianism are different by Daoism is based on the way of nature and immortality.
Similarities and Differences between Confucianism and Daoism Doaism and Confucianism are the top two ancient styles of living in China, where they both originated in 550 B.C.E (before common era). I believe that Daoism and Confucianism are both the top religions/styles of living in Ancient China, while they have some similarities they are much more different than they are similar. Both are not only ways of living but, they are a way of life. Confucianism is the belief in setting good examples for other people to follow. They are based off of the five key relationships of the ancient chinese society.
Did you know seahorses don’t have any teeth or a stomach? Seahorses are a very interesting animal that could be misjudged as a sea monster. One that has a very curly tail, and bright, vibrant colors. These “sea monsters” are fish, even though they don’t look like a fish. They aren’t even very similar to a fish too.
Both religion is incredible when one think about it. The one that I find most interesting is Confucianism. However, in Daoism burying people alive is a crude act. I wonder if each individual was forced to be buried or it was more of a choice. This seems like one of the most heinous thing a person could do to another.
Many religions have their own concept of social ordering in terms of class and an individual's role in society but some are just as similar to each other as they are different. A prime example of this is classical Hinduism and classical Confucianism. They are nothing similar in how social order plays a strong role in maintaining a stable society and how the highest class can help the other classes. On the other hand, they differ in how one can move on the social ladder, how social class has an effect on reaching the highest ideal, and how much power each class has. Both Hinduism and Confucianism consider social order crucial for maintaining a society.
Compare and contrast the roles of Confucianism and Buddhism in both China and Korea until roughly the 7th century Introduction East Asia is the largest emerging economy of the world at present, and this phenomenon can be traced back to its cultural, demographic, political and social traditions and identities. Yang and Tamney (2011) said religion was an integral part of cultural which played an extremely great role in enriching people’s spiritual life, guiding people to do good (p.132), and strengthening the state authority and legitimating their rule by instilling people with the politics-oriented beliefs from the perspective of the ruling class. Confucianism and Buddhism played a dominant role in the feudal society in both China and Korea and they exerted far-reaching impacts on both countries until today. As religion, both Confucianism and Buddhism served similar purposes in maintaining the social orderliness and stability, despite the differences between them in the religions beliefs and their impacts. In this paper, the roles of two mainstream religions, Confucianism (including Neo-Confucianism) and Buddhism in China and Korea until roughly the 7th century are compared and contrasted in various aspects.

Title Seeking to end suffering and pain around them Buddha and Confucius sought out the truth to end up forming unique but similar theories. Buddha and Confucius were 6th century philosophers, who asked similar questions but they had different answers. Buddhism claims the only way to escape suffering is to repress cravings and follow the eight fold path.

In India, however, Buddhism and Confucius was one of the biggest impacts they had on their society and culture for many different people. Both Buddhism and Confucius are wonderful ways of life but they are different and similar in some ways. Many think that Buddhism is a religion, but they are mistaken it is not something to live by but just a way to think. Buddha never wanted it to be thought of as a religion, just a way of life to follow.
