Seeking to end suffering and pain around them Buddha and Confucius sought out the truth to end up forming unique but similar theories. Buddha and Confucius were 6th century philosophers, who asked similar questions but they had different answers. Confucius said that the solution to suffering was to have an orderly society, while Buddha taught that personal submission to the universe was the key to eliminating pain. Buddhism claims the only way to escape suffering is to repress cravings and follow the eight fold path.
