Robin Morgan, an American poet, once said, “Knowledge is power. Information is power. The secreting or hoarding of knowledge or information may be an act of tyranny camouflaged as humility.” Like when books or general knowledge is withheld from the public. Or when any knowledge of the past life is concealed and you even get a daily injection to ensure that the past is kept a secret, and so that your community feels very little emotion. Even though there are many differences between our world and the “dystopian world” there are also many similarities, like how not all information is public and much more. One example of this is in Fahrenheit 451, a novel about a society that has completely rules out books, and has caused its people to stop noticing the world around them and even thinking. "’ Bet I know something else you don't. There's dew on the grass in the morning.’" He suddenly couldn't remember if he had known this or not, and it made him quite irritable. In Fahrenheit 451, all books are banned, and knowledge is concealed, and some may ask themselves if we are almost falling off towards that, when considering the following. Usa today states that, “Banned books are not new, but they have gained new relevance in an escalating culture war that puts books centering racism, sexuality and gender identity at risk in public schools and libraries.” Although not all books are banned, many are, for reasons previously mentioned, and while some may argue that this is right and that books talk about sensitive topics, others may argue differently saying that you would need to learn about these things to truly understand where you stand on these, hard-to-talk-on
