Jordan Riley Mrs. Tchorz-Mrs. Tynan Block 3-4 Apr 11, 2023 “A blind woman is walking through a construction site she is about to get hit by a machine.” In the short film “Joy and Heron,” an old man and a dog named Joy are out fishing and a Heron keeps trying to take the worms out of the bucket, but Joy keeps scaring the Heron off. In the short film “Pip Goes to Guide Dog School,” Pip goes to school to become a guide dog, but he is the smallest dog out of all the dogs, and he underperforms because of his size. The authors of both films share a similar central idea that good deeds will be rewarded. Evidence to support this idea is that both main characters get rewarded for their acts of kindness. Another example is they both get rewarded differently. The last example is the theme gets developed differently. The authors of “Pip Goes to Guide Dog School” and “Joy and Heron” main characters get rewarded for their acts of kindness. The first example is Pip helps the blind person cross the road after leaving school and Pip gets accepted in dog school (2:51). This is important because it shows how Pip gets rewarded. For example, Pip acts out and helps a handicapped person and gets rewarded with getting accepted into the guide dog school (2:51). That act of kindness Pip made got him rewarded into his dream dog school. Another example, Joy sees the Heron trying to feed his babies, but they won’t eat they want worms and Joy gives the Heron all the worms he has and gets rewarded with fish. Joys act of kindness got him a lot of fish, and he made the old man proud. Heron gets worms to feed its babies, and he rewards Joy the dog that gave him the worms, and he gave that dog a bunch of fish. This shows, if someone is kind to you, you should be nice to
