In the two novels Of Mice & Men, and Frankenstein, the two conflicts i chose was man vs. self, and man vs. man. The character in Of Mice and Men,George, is the conflict of Man vs. Self. The characters in Frankenstein are Victor, and Frankenstein who are conflicts of Man vs. Man. These two conflicts affect the two characters in various ways. It affects them in intense moments, and very decision making situations. In Mice of Men, George is a protagonist of the story. He takes care of Lennie because is mentally challenged, and in his mind, Lennie is a child, but he is an adult. He helps Lennie whenever he goes, because Lennie couldn’t control his strength when he touch soft things. When he touch soft things, he could kill things that are soft like animals with soft fur. In Frankenstein, Victor is the scientist who made Frankenstein the monster. After he made the monster, Victor was disgusted with its features of the monster. Self. George is in a conflict ,because George has to get Lennie out of trouble whenever he does something terrible. In the story, Lennie was being attacked by Curly. Lennie crushed Curley’s hand, and Curly got mad. George had to leave ,because of Lennie’s actions toward Curley before something bad happens. Another incident that happened was that Lennie accidentally killed Curley’s wife. Carlson told George about Curley’s wife body in the barn. George had known that Lennie was the one who killed Curley’s wife but as an accident. After he found it, he had to take matters into his own hands to kill Lennie. This is Man vs. Self, because George had no other way to save Lennie from the mistake he made. He had to kill him, because he didn’t want Lennie to be killed in slow, and painful death.
