These two famous stories Romeo and Juliet and Pyramus and Thisbe both talk two young lovers that will both take there own life. Pyramus and Thisbe was written before Romeo and Juliet. Pyramus and Thisbe was written by Ovid in (43 B.C. – 17 A.D.) In the story there was a couple of young Babylonians in love. Unfortunately, their families totally hate each other. The star-crossed lovers whisper sweet nothings through a crack in the wall that separates their houses, until they eventually can 't take it anymore and decide to elope. Does that sound familiar? You might of heard of a similar story called Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juliet was written by William Shakespeare. It was originally published in 1597. These are the similarities of these two famous love stories.

The first reason why there both similar is because of the chink in wall and the Nurse. Romeo and Juliet, the two children of feuding families fell deeply in love. This showed that their love was difficult because they were afraid of the discernment they would face. The Nurse, who was a mother figure to Juliet, was the main form of communication between the two lovers. Sometimes, the Nurse would have a message from Romeo to give to Juliet or vise versa. Similarly, In "Pyramus and Thisbe", they whispered back and forth through a small chink in the wall. Although this was a small crack, it was a tremendously important part of the story.
