Both stories have similarities in characters. For instance, Romeo’s love for Juliet is as great as Danny’s love for Sandy. Both characters have forces that keep them away from their true love. In the same way they are both round characters since they show multiple sides through the whole story. Danny changes every time he is near his friends. Meanwhile, Romeo acts on his own instincts without thinking about the consequences that are going to happen, and in the end it does not end up well. In Grease their friends are keeping them away from each other. Then in Romeo and Juliet their families are the reason that they could not be together. They both tie in two past people that they loved in this case it would be Rosaline and Annette. Although the difference is that in Grease, Danny was actually with Annette, but in Romeo and Juliet Romeo never actually dated Rosaline it was just a crush. Then finally both stories end in opposite directions. That is what made each story unique, but after a while we realize that at times things do not always go as planned. Of course Grease ended with a happy ending where Danny and Sandy ended up being together. Then we have the classic love story of Romeo and Juliet that results in devastating deaths. Although in the end they do it because they loved each other so much, and eventually that’s all that really matters.
Furthermore, both authors also have a similar style since both of them are dramas. In this case, Grease is a musical and Romeo and Juliet is a play. Both writers also incorporated two allusions. Grease even alludes to Romeo and Juliet. When Sandy and the Pink Ladies are having a sleepover and the boys come with their car someone stands up and shouts “Oh, Sandy, wherefore art thou, Sandy.” In Romeo and Juliet it alludes to the Bible, a famous piece of literature. It alludes to the story where Peter denied Jesus three times before the rooster
