Over the centuries, many rules have been developed to keep our human race in order. Although these rules are sometimes not followed, many different rules, the guides for human behavior, have emerged. Some of these different types of rules include; the Ten Commandments, the Beatitudes, and the Code of Hammurabi. These three sets of rules all happened in different time periods, yet they still have some similarities. The Ten Commandments tell us the top ten things we are not allowed to do. They teach us to do the opposite and do everything in the name of God with good intentions. This relates to the Code of Hammurabi because the Code was designed to eliminate criminal matters. It teaches us what happens, what the consequences are, if we don’t abide by the rules given to us. These two go hand in hand because they are both trying to better the human race. The Beatitudes only has whereas compared to the others is none at all. The Code of Hammurabi houses many consequences to try and scare people into not breaking or doing any of the crimes. The Ten Commandments were sent by God so we could learn to live like him and his Son, and fulfill our journey so we could get to heaven with him. Finally, the Beatitudes represent the happiness and grace we will receive once we have
