America has greatly evolved since it was founded. It started off with some issues like slavery and war. Today we look back at the bad things that happened and we learn from them. We try not to recreate any of those bad events that happened in the past. America was intended to be a great country with great people living in. Our country gets better by the day and hopefully one day in the future it can be a perfect country. It is good to be able to look back at things that have happened in the past and to learn from them. Looking back makes it easier to do this and it also makes people ask themselves the question, how would I feel about being a slave. Now we have laws that would stop slavery from happening.
Another terrible event of American history was the time of the Ku Klux Klan. The Ku Klux Klan, also known as the KKK, first started in 1865. It was created by six confederate veterans in Pulaski, Tennessee.They would hunt certain types of people like colored people, Catholics, Jews and people of other religions. They would make clothing that would intimidate people and that would also hide their identities. They tried to be as scary a possible so they attacked at night and moved in silence till they attacked. The KKK was a terrible event in American history. This group has killed many of innocent Americans. The reason they were killed was because they were either colored or a certain religion that the KKK did not like. I do not believe that something like the KKK will ever be a problem again in the United States. I believe this because of the power in our country today. Now that we know more about this group and how it worked they could be stopped faster and
