The South suffered economically from the Civil War for about one hundred years. They lost a lot of men and valuable resources during the war. They now had to pay people to work instead of owning slaves. The economic effects of the Civil War Affected the North and South in varying ways;the North experienced a positive economic effect while the South experienced negative repercussions.There were many things that were destroyed during the war including rail roads, businesses, cotton gins, and even cities. War was not a very cheap thing to be a part of, they used a lot of money during the war. The North benefitted economically. There were many people in the North that grew their businesses after the Civil War. The entire world was changed economically
