The aftermath of ww1 brought about many extreme social, cultural, and economic change around the world. The empires that were involved in the war completely collapsed, new countries formed. New and old forms of ideologies, psychological effects and consequences were pronounced and would remain in the minds of men and women for future generations. Ww1 brought about the death of millions of soldiers in captivity. As well as 192 prisoners in Great Britain alone. Organisations such as the Red Cross were significant helpers who took care of food and return of imprisoned soldiers. Food shortages led people to starvation which weakened people's ability to fight off disease. There was a major effect in the political side as well. The world was dividing and republics were changing. Because of the demands of the war, there was a huge increase in taxation. There were huge debts owing from countries which affected the dollar.
