Millions of people communicate and obtain information daily with the help of the internet. The majority of Americans have either a smart phone, laptop, desktop or a tablet to obtain information wanted or needed. The internet is a very powerful tool and with social media networks like Facebook, Instagram, twitter, and YouTube being some of the top networks in communication it is no wonder people are actively on the internet. The internet has helped thousands of people get noticed around the world in a matter of days or weeks. Videos go viral and sometimes may even make it on the news. People from different time zones within their country are able to communicate with one another. Internet campaigning acts are effective because the majority of Americans are registered with a social network. When a computer system connects people it is known as a social network. Social network sites such as Facebook and Myspace give their members an opportunity to create groups. Groups are formed by a people who shares the same interests or opinions, and allows other members who share the same interest join the group. Within these social network groups members are allowed to post their opinions, videos, photographs of their interest. This advantage allows candidates to monitor how many supports they have and it allow them to interact with their supporters. Candidates are able to live chat with their supporters, post videos and photographs, and answer questions all with the help of the internet and social network sites.
