I am excited to apply for the Social Venture Advisor position at Tides. I am passionate about leveraging people and organizations as forces for social good. I have worked across sectors from launching a financial inclusion startup, supporting social good projects with the United Nations, and advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion through my own business venture. I have also worked for small grassroots organizations and large multi-national organizations --learning valuable insights about social innovation from diverse perspectives. My background in social innovation, international development, and social justice allows me to connect with philanthropists, businesses, and venture capitalist as well as nonprofit leaders, advocates, and entrepreneurs. …show more content…

I also have strong skillsets in financial management and reporting and excellent team-working and relationship-building skills. I have strong program development and community organizing skills, which I have fine-tuned at UNESCO, LendUp, Summer Search, and the academic projects I undertook during my Master’s Program at the University of Pennsylvania. I have written several policy proposals, official reports and evaluated international grants for UNESCO. At the Forgotten International, I designed program budgets and oversaw contract compliance for all South American education projects. I played a lead role in developing content and recruiting speakers for several high level events and conferences, including International Women’s Day Conference at UNESCO’s headquarters and the Global Women Leaders Conference in Sofia, Bulgaria. I have also managed many international development projects working with several external stakeholders, in English, French and Spanish. I have excellent written and oral communication skills including report writing and creative communications with diverse audiences. I was also the UNESCO Gender Equality Representative at COP21 in Paris, and worked with several stakeholders to incorporate gender considerations into the finalized Paris Agreement on Climate Change.
