Society is a crucial foundation in the formation of an individual. Different institutes like the education and health care system are vital in creating stability for individuals in society. Nonetheless I feel that working in the social work sector will enable me to operate alongside important institutions in order to guide and facilitate individuals. Therefore my tact, understanding and patience will help me to build a respectable career and make a positive contribution to society.
I recognise that this career is demanding but I feel I have the characteristics to be successful. I always aim to be open-minded so that I am able to build a rapport with families and the youth. I demonstrated this when I worked as a peer mentor. I built skills such as managing a heavy workload and using my time effectively, alongside my subjects. I supported them in subjects ranging from computer literacy to mathematics. Furthermore being a science pioneer, organising lunchtime activities allowed me to further develop my communication skills. Also I am multi lingual so my ability to speak Hindko, Urdu, and Punjabi gives me the capability to relate

In Sociology, I have developed my understanding of a variety of theoretical approaches; for example the interdependency between a stable family life and educational success. This has led me to further appreciate the importance of a career that promotes social stability. Moreover Psychology showed me at an individual level the importance of factors such as self-awareness and confidence and the concept of acceptance of all individuals despite their differences. I am aware of global issues aired in the media, which have become apparent in my religious education A level.
