In this work, it’s important to know that deviance is a form behavior that is against the norms of the society There are numerous conflicting theories on the causes of deviant behavior, but the main ones fall into three categories: functionalist, conflict and symbolic interactionism. Deviance as a violation of social norms, sociologists have characterized it as of their values or rules or group conduct, that violate studies of social deviance is the study of the violation of cultural norms in either formal or informal contexts. Social deviance is a phenomenon that has existed in all societies with norms. Sociological theories of deviance are those that use social context and social pressures to explain deviance. Sociologists see deviance as the result of group and institutional, but individual’s mandate. Social control is never perfect, and so many norms and people exist that there are always some people who violate some norms. (Émile Durkheim, 1962) INTERVIEW An interview was conducted to know what are the causes of deviance in in US society today. The interview was conducted randomly on those who have committed crimes or any other rule- breakings in society. The first correspondent came from Texas and the other from Florida. The first was a Para legal and the second to be interviewed was a Teacher. The interview conversation was as follows: Interviewer- What is the major crime or device you have ever committed? Marline- stealing a vehicle belonging to a state official Interviewer- what was the reason for doing that?
