Introduction Alka-Seltzer has been on the market since 1931 and has helped to relieve indigestion and upset stomach. The tablets began to fizz and bubble when dropped into water. “The fizziness happens when baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) and citric acid react chemically in water. They yield sodium citrate, water and carbon dioxide gas, which causes bubbles.” Based on this information, we will measure the reaction time of AlKa- Seltzer dissolved in 200 ml of water at 3 different tempertures in the first portion of this experiment.
Dropping Mentos soda causes a physical reaction, as they fall through the soda, the Mentos split up the carbon dioxide and water, releasing the carbon dioxide gas out of the bottle. After closing the lid after adding Mentos to a bottle of diet soda, you trap that gas, creating atmospheric pressure. When the bottle slams hard against the ground, the cap flies off and the gasses release, shooting the bottle into the air. The mentos should mix with the coke and settle in with each other and then they will start to reject each other building up tension after the cap gets hit with a certain amount of pressure it flies because of the gas like a mix between a hot air balloon and a catapult.
“Consider how easy it is to squeeze an empty soda can compared to how easy it is to crush a thin aluminum tube. If you cut the soda can open and curl the aluminum sheet into a smaller diameter it gets much harder to dent or deform. This has to do with leverage. If you take a wire or bar of metal it is much easier to bend, requires less force, if your hands are widely separated because you have more leverage. If the thickness of metal wall stays the same then larger cans are easier to crush.
Hercules said, “A true hero isn’t measured by the size of his strength, but by the strength of his heart.” A hero is someone who wants to help others and always does the right thing. In the book The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, Sodapop isn’t a hero because he’s extremely strong or courageous, but because he’s caring and selfless. In the beginning of the book, Soda has a conversation with Ponyboy about his relationship with Sandy.
Research Question: To investigate and compare how different temperature (5℃, 15℃, 25℃, 35℃, 45℃) can affect the concentration of carbon dioxide in soda water through titration with sodium hydroxide solution. Introduction: Carbon dioxide plays an important role in soft drinks. Soda water is manufactured by pumping carbon dioxide into water under high pressure. Carbon dioxide dissolves in water to form carbonic acid, which is the fizz we find in soft drinks. CO2 + H2O ⇌
Soda or No Alexeea Swisher Mr.Mosso 1/14/2016 Have you ever thought about having soda machines at school? Why you may ask. Well because soda is awesome, cool and great. If I had a soda machine I would be so grateful. Like I say it’s nutritious and delicious. Well it is not that nutritious or healthy but it is very good.
What causes Diet Coke and Mentos to react to make big fizzy explosions? One of the most popular theories is a process that is called nucleation, it’s happens when carbon dioxide in the soda is attracted to Mentos. It creates pressure that builds up until the soda explodes and goes flying! The reason it bubbles up so much is that it has thousands of tiny little pores on the surface that interrupts the polar attractions between water molecules, making thousands of nucleation sites in the soda to group up. And one of the reasons mentos work so well is because there is so many nucleation sites for the reaction to happen.
When I saw Ponyboy asleep on the hospital bed critically burned, I felt my legs giving out. As I glanced to my left, I noticed that Sodapop was tearing up. “Da-r-ry?” Soda managed to mumble out, “ WIll P-p-ony be o-kay?” At that moment I held back another wave of emotion trying to come up, “I don 't know Soda, I just don’t know.

Should elementary schools have soda machines There shouldn’t be soda machines in school because of sugar. The sugar would them hyper and they be bouncing around the classroom and making noises. Also it get really annoying to the classmates. Then they would lose all their energy and sleep in class.
Title: THE BALLOON INFLATION REACTION Introduction: Chemistry is one thing that makes us understand and gives us reasons of why certain reactions gives certain results. In this experiment we will be illustrating the reaction between baking powder and vinegar and see what happens to the balloon that is attached to it. Hypothetically the reaction of the vinegar and baking powder will produce carbon dioxide which will inflate the balloon. If the more vinegar may happen that when more vinegar is added to the baking powder it may produce more carbon dioxide thus the balloons diameter increases.
It was 1886, Americans migrating to the cities, the rest of the world settling in the streets of America in seek of jobs, and workers constructing the Statue of Liberty just off the New York Harbor. Eight hundred miles away, another great American symbol was about to be introduce itself. The public demand for soda water grew and led to many different experiments through the years. All trying to achieve a taste that was unique and new for a beverage.
I think we should have soda machines because the people that get one is going to be energized so that means they are not going to fall asleep. The school would get money from the soda machine and the kids might have better grades and they could be patination more. There would be different kinds of drinks like water orange juice so people can have a choice.
One reason I think you should not have a soda machine is because kids will drink a lot of just sugary drink and I would know I 'm a kid. These sugary drinks can be a distraction for kids and distraction for teachers as well. And sure it will raise money but still. Another reason is sugary drinks such as soda can make kids not concentrate and kids are at school to learn not to drink soda.
a water, juice, tea, or some other alternative drink. However, at dinner if you have had the soft drink already at lunch you must drink water or another non-soda drink now at dinner rather than a second soda for dinner. Another thing you can try to do is fuel up on water whenever you crave a soda, because drinking a glass of water helps you feel fuller and will also not have the caffeine high feelings produced from a soda. Ultimately if you are one of those that likes to habitually go to the fridge just to grab a soda, get into a habit of instead of grabbing a sweet drink, grab a nice low-calorie snack or something that is better and more pleasing than this soft drink that actually will hold you over in the end. With any goal not just these
