From viewing historic events people can come to conclude that groups are motivated by power. There are different types of power used by different actors to promote their own views. Soft power is used by actors to influence other actor. This power is a more congenial tactic compared to hard power. Hard power is usually a force way of getting anything accomplished. Whether there are states or groups each of them use power to their advantage. There are infinite examples where each have taken place. Both hard and soft power are intended to make the outcome different by different means. Hard power is easier to detect since it uses harsher power. Soft power is commonly used in various countries throughout history. Soft power defined by the author of The Future of Power, Joseph Nye, is a way in which actors try to influence outcomes of other actors by means of demonstration. Thus, if an actor wishes to change the stance of another actor it will do so by influencing their opinion.
