A family, usually consists of husband and wife, is a group of relative relation. This word is considered like as if it brings happiness and confortable, but it is not for everyone. Someone might have happy memories, but other might have terrible memories such as crime of domestic violence, divorce, and hardships of life. A book “Song of Solomon” by Toni Morrison is summarized by ostensibly a word “family,” but it internally contains a heavy subject which is about racism and sexism. Milkman Dead, who is also known as Macon Dead III, is the protagonist of the novel. Because he was born with privileged life, it might have affected his selfish personality. The reason that the hospital cares baby’s mother is summarized by two factors. First, a disturbance after the lonely man’s flying failure. Secondly, due to the fact that his mother is a child of this town’s first doctor. Sitiations such as desire and disappointment around the baby is a question that he must solve after he is grown up. This baby, Macon Dead III, was born under the richest black family of the Middle Western town. He has recieved love and affection from his parents, and he spends his childhood with having privileges. After he talks with his aunt, he notices about his family’s secretary history which he should know. He strongly desires to be grown up; he dicides to go to South to find tradition. Family’s history which Milkman finds encourages him to understand by himself, and finally it convinces his name’s meaning. However, he learns this kind of enlightenment and responsibility after he finds that what danger his privileged life
