Tom’s desire to finish his son's journey teaches me that we all can accomplish anything we want in life, especially with God’s blessing that we receive through Confirmation. After Tom's son, Daniel, passed away, Tom set his mind to accomplishing that which his son would have if he were still able to do so. Daniel wanted to get away from the responsibilities of his everyday life and go travel the world while experiencing new things and meeting new people. Since he was never able to completely fulfill those dreams of his, his father decided to do so for him in his honor. I believe that sacrificing for others is the best way to show just how thankful I am for Jesus’ sacrifices that he made for us all. For example, instead of spending all of my time with friends on the weekends, I often volunteer with my mom and my grandma at the HOPE Outreach Center, a charity that assists people who are struggling to make ends meet by giving food, employment assistance, education support, etc. Also, during the summer, I work four days a week at a summer camp to help kids enjoy their summers and have fun, while their parents are at work everyday in order to make money
