What is new in the space travel world? Two article excerpts by author Cameron Keady “A Success in Space” and “America’s New Spacecraft” describe two space crafts with very different missions. The purpose of this essay is to explain the purpose of each mission and then argue which mission was the more successful. The first mission, as described in “A Success in Space,” used a small probe called the Philae lander, which had been dropped by Rosetta, a much larger craft that had been traveling 10 years prior to the drop of Philae.

The 1960’s were a period of social turmoil. The cold war had been brewing and was a contest of nationalistic interests between the US and Soviet Union to compete for militaristic, economic, social, and technological might. As the cold war culminated and became increasingly competitive, the United States and Soviets competed in the phenomenon called the Space Race, a competition between the two countries for supremacy in the frontier that is space. Although the Soviets reached space itself before the Americans, The United States took the advantage by landing the first people on the moon using the Apollo 11 spacecraft. The Apollo 11 moon landing influenced American nationalism in the late 1960s and early 70s by inciting a positive public reaction
Assess the impact of the Space Race between the USA and USSR on technology, science, politics, and society since the 1960s. The Space Race achieved engineering milestones and led to significant scientific discoveries. Although the U.S. made history by landing astronauts on the Moon during the 1960s space race, the Soviet Union initially outpaced with technological accomplishments. The USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics) dedicated resources to match the U.S.’s advancements in technology. The Space Race led to advancements, for both superpowers, but mainly bolstered the U.S.A.'s reputation with both hard and soft power, as it showed that capitalism was also innovative and strengthened national security efforts through strategic displays
A video by the name of Mining Asteroids Planetary Resources stated, ¨Resources from asteroids will add tens of billions of dollars annually to the global GDP.¨ GDP (gross domestic product). The quote from Mining Asteroids Planetary Resources helped prove the point that if NASA decided to increase the funds for asteroid studies then they would soon make way more money than they originally spent which would open up the budget for other things that would greatly increase the value and need for NASA. Along with finding valuable resources on asteroids, they could also get a higher budget from the government for getting resources from asteroids because what they do makes so much money making them a more reliable investment in. Data from ¨NASA’s 2013 Budget Puts Brakes On Planet Probes¨ shows that out of the 3.7 trillion dollar budget only 17.7 billion dollars were spent on NASA. This shows that if NASA makes more money than they will get more of the available funding because they are a safe
Ufologists are calling a 250,000-year-old piece of aluminum a space alien invention. The discovery of this old, metal chunk dates back to communist Romania in 1973. Yet, remained a secret until. Now, that secret is under investigation.

The Minister's Black Veil is a short story by Nathaniel Hawthorne, which centers on the character of Reverend Hooper, who begins wearing a black veil that covers his face. The veil causes a stir in the Puritan community where he lives, as they view it as a symbol of sin and guilt. The story is a powerful allegory for the human tendency to conceal our flaws and faults, as the veil represents the hidden actions and regrets that people hold. It serves as a reminder that everyone has imperfections, and that acknowledging and accepting them is essential for personal growth and redemption. Through the character of Reverend Hooper, Hawthorne explores the themes of sin, secrecy, and the struggle to come to terms with one's humanity.
The money coming from taxpayers should not be spent on the space program’s progress in space exploration. The money should be spent on something more realistic for the future generations. They could spend the money on saving the earth’s problems instead of looking for another planet. Also, instead of trying to explore space, the money could go to exploring the oceans. Only five percent of the ocean has be explored.
The sending of men to the moon with a safe return to Earth showed the world that America was a notable contender in the Space Race. According to Khan Academy, “The “space race” was a Cold War competition between the United States and the Soviet Union to develop aerospace capabilities, including artificial satellites, unmanned space probes, and human spaceflight.” The United States government formed the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, or NASA, in 1958 to be the primary research agency to experiment with and analyze space and the exploration of it. Although the Soviet Union had some early on successes in the Space Race, the Americans did not give up. In May of 1961, Alan Shepard became the first American pilot in space.
History of Canadian Space Exploration Space, the final frontier. Canadians have always been resourceful and have found ways to contribute and innovate how the world travels and sees space. Canada’s history of space exploration has had an impact on many generations, from famous astronauts who devote their lives to science and inspire many, to the advancement of mechanical innovation that furthers our knowledge and development, to finally, the creation of the Canadarm that has been an international success and has spanned generations with its successes. Canada has produced several famous astronauts who have devoted their lives to science and inspired many people. Roberta Bondar is the first Canadian woman to go into space.
I picked the “Space Exploration: Apollo missions” as the topic I wanted to learn more about, because outer space has always fascinated me. I found this article from Nasa.gov that was very insightful, Project Apollo: A Retrospective Analysis1. What was the motivation that led to the discovery? One major motivator was that the United States and the Soviet Union were competing with each other to see who could get to outer space first and then the moon.
Introduction The Cold War era was characterized by the intense competition between the US and the Soviet Union, specifically in space exploration. The Soviet Union's launch of Sputnik in 1957 marked the start of this race, which shocked the Americans. Back then, a manned Moon landing was the ultimate prize of this technological competition. The story of this intense competition is well known. Eventually, the US won the first Space race by successfully completing the first manned mission (Apollo 11) on the Moon’s surface in 1969.
America; land of the free, and home of the brave. Since 1776, the US has gradually grown from a dismal 13 colonies to a vast 50 states and some-odd amount of territories. Along with this bolstering in square mileage, the United States’ role in the world has developed. Starting around the 1920s, the US started to shine as a force of the growing industrial world. Displaying the new wealth and economic prosperity with new projects such as the development of mass industries and the monstrous buildings shooting up in the new major cities, clawing through the clouds at the heavens, thus earning their names; “skyscrapers.”
Many people think that space exploration is a waste of money. They think that people shouldn’t be looking to the stars and that space exploration is unnecessary. Then there is the people who think otherwise. People from NASA, or people who just in general love space ,want to fund for the cause. They think that space can help the economy improve and that there is more to space than stars and a bunch of planets.
