Initially going into Spanish IV, there were clear differences between this class and any other Spanish class that I had taken since 8th grade. In all previous years, the class was far easier and there were key differences, namely the fact that in this class we actually use the Spanish language to a far greater extent, and it seems that the class is not as worksheet driven. Both of these changes, although clearly beneficial for the learning of Spanish, made the class to be something of a surprising change which had to be adapted to. I believe that I have gotten quite a bit better at using the Spanish language and some confusion developed by simply practicing in the past without any actual background or explanation has been cleared up. My understanding of verb conjugation in particular has improved along with how one determines which tense of a verb should be used in complex sentences, a chronic issue for me in the past. This seems crucial to learning a language since it makes up the majority of the spoken component in class. This is measurable by how much I raise my hand. In the past, I would raise my hand maybe once or twice per class, maybe a few on a good day. I would like to see myself raise my hand maybe three to five times per class on average, which would be considerable and measurable improvement. My second goal would be to increase my vocabulary. I find that frequently in class we come across words which a large percentage of the class seems to know but I do not. I have recently taken up occasionally researching extra words which I think might come up along the current subject matter, though it is a little hard to predict. I think that a good second goal would be to increase, or at the very least sustain, this progression. I would like to learn a few words a
