Spartan Boy and the Fox
In the short story Spartan Boy and the Fox a boy hides a live fox under his cloak so he could eat later, while he was hiding the fox it bit him. The boy showed no sign of distress which was admired by the Spartans. Enduring all of that pain showed dedication, one of Sparta’s most valued characteristics is dedication. Spartans were expected to prioritize Sparta over anything else and dedicate their lives to the well being of their city. The Spartan Boy showed dedication to live by risking death just so he could eat later. While he was hiding the fox he showed no sign of pain or distress, this shows he was strong willed and determined to succeed in the will of Sparta. He was very strong both physically and mentally, which
