The field of sports medicine offers an interest in understanding how the human body works and showing passion for helping others overcome physical ailments. As a hardworking and ambitious sophomore in college, my goal is to obtain a Bachelor's degree in sports medicine, specializing in athletic training. This interest, coupled with early experiences providing care to my grandparents and personal encounters as an athlete, has shaped my decision to become an integral part of the healthcare team in athletic settings. Post-surgery, I assumed the role of her caregiver. I took it upon myself to learn about the post-surgical care required for a successful recovery. I helped her ice her knee, ensuring the reduction of swelling, and guiding her through the physical therapy exercises prescribed by her doctor. Witnessing her progress and joy firsthand while being able to positively contribute to her recovery process deeply resonated with me. It was incredibly rewarding to witness her regain mobility and alleviate the pain she had endured for so long.
