One of the biggest examples of an overcrowded red ocean industry is sports viewership. Currently all of the big names in broadcasting have contracts with the big five leagues; NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, MLS. These networks make offers to be the exclusive providers of games and teams. This revenue is one of the biggest sources of income for these leagues. However more and more people are beginning to cut cable bills. Instead more people are turning to streaming sources such as Netflix, and Amazon Prime Video. With this market trend many are starting to speculate what effect this will have on T.V. deals in sports. A recent study determined that “more than half (53 percent) of Wi-Fi households in the U.S. are now using at least one over-the-top streaming service, with Netflix being the primary choice. While still the leader in the streaming space with a presence in 75 percent of those homes, its service is facing increased competition” (Perez, S. 2017). Sportscenter was a key show of every sports fan, as it recapped the past day, showcasing the highlights and hot takes. While the new aged Sportscenter has come under fire as of late for their change in their modal, this gives Netflix a chance to create a new market. Creating a system like a Netflix que where users pick the content that will be on their show. For example, my favorite teams include New York Rangers, New York Yankees, Miami Heat, Manchester City, and the New England Patriots. My favorite leagues are the NHL and NBA. Therefore, my show would consist of only these topics instead of all the topics in the sports world, many that I am not as interested in. This could be done very simply, in doing review and highlights for each of the games, taking the overview for each league at the end of the night and creating expert analysis. Proceed to have users mold their preferences to their liking to create a show for them that they will be interested in. This would give the company a get a great amount of content that would be built off the system that they created. Netflix could push users toward additional content, based off what they like and what they have watched. This would mimic what Dell was able to do when they gave users the ability to personalize their personal computers in the 1990s. This would lead to a show that would not only be a blue ocean, but
