When St. Januarius was going to be killed he was thrown into a lion’s den, but the lions didn’t eat him instead they laid down. St. Januarius is the patron saint of naples, volcanic eruptions, and blood banks. His body is held at the Naples cathedral. When he was killed people took some of his blood and stored it is a glass container which is held in Naples. It is said that when it is brought out to show people that it liquefies a little bit. St. Januarius also called San Gennaro was born in Joppolo Italy in 272 A.D. He died in 305 A.D. by being beheaded in Pozzuoli, Italy. His Feast Day is 19 September.
