These points helped with Francis learning what kind of person he would be and do with his life.
In terms of favorites, many Russian peasants idolized Nicholas the Wonderworker because of his agricultural powers. Peasants, as we know by now, heavily depended on agriculture for their survival. In legend #8, you can see how much higher regards the peasant had for Saint Nicholas than he did the Elijah the Prophet. To summarize the events of the story, Saint Nicholas guided the peasant to embrace Elijah as much as he had embraced him. He did so by remembering to burn a candle for him (it was even bigger than Saint Nicholas), thanking him for how merciful he was to him.
He refuted the clergymen by rhetorically questioning
He was no longer the monster that everyone thought him to be. He fully committed his life to the teaching of God to his fellow inmates. Nobles even stood as godfather at an inmate’s baptism and also officiated at a mass that was held before the execution of the inmate he had baptized. Why would he ever devote all those years and all the time if he wasn’t truly changed? He had confessed to the murders he had committed and would be put to death no matter what.
Abbey VanWagner Instructor Bussey BIBL 102 New Testament Survey 19 February 2016 The life of Peter When looking at the life of Peter, it was easy to see that he was an imperfect man. His rigorously critical attitude towards modernism and liberalism brought his a lot of trouble and misunderstanding. However, when the Liberalism and Naturalism were so prosperous in his era, the whole Christianity needed a leading legend to protest against Christianity from falling too far from the Bible and traditional orthodoxy
Another negative attribute of Phillip is his short temper. An example of Phillips short temper is on page 45 to 46 when he becomes infuriated with his situation and starts punching Timothy. He is even angry with his mom and blames her for putting him in the situation he is in. His bad temper comes out again every time Timothy forgets that he is blind and asks him to look at something.

It is through the Son and the Spirit that people can be rescued from judgement and brought within the eternal life of Christ. He did not approve of the thinking of Augustine that sex is born in evil. He considered that war may be just if it is defensive and in proportion to the purpose and ending in a just peace. For one person to cover the whole territory of doctrine, the Trinity, the creation, the incarnation, the work of the Spirit, the life of the Church, the Christian life and purpose in society, this was exceptional.

Peter the Great was someone that I believed deserved his title of Great as leader and a King. I do not think that he was a great man. He was a good ruler because of his changes to the country and the modernization of it. He was not a great man because of his hatred for and neglect first wife and his oldest son. If I judge him on his actions as a king I would say that he does deserve the title of great but if I look at his personal life I would say that he is the complete opposite of great.

He, as head of our Church wanted to affirm the need to reflect on the truth. It is somewhat less true that human beings through the ages, have raised important questions about their own identity, and which also is its origin, as well what will happen after their death, on these issues in search of truth itself and what is its foundation, the reason finds its most gifted beauty in faith support. One aspect that catches my attention, among many others, is when the Pope states: "The Church, meanwhile, appreciated the effort of reason to achieve the goals that make more and more worthy personal existence.
