Since the beginning of invention to the innovations of today, creativity and imagination have been imperative in the advancement of human society. However, the institutions that the future of the human race is forced to attend, forcibly removes or cruelly conceals the backbone of advancement from these poor unsuspecting children. From the start, children are forced to conceal their “offbeat and strange” ideas and opinions, take test with absolutely no wriggle-room, and denied the freedom of self-gratification and discovery. Such practices are inhumane and make children no more useful to society, than an empty bowl to the hungry. Children who are barely able to hold urine, are being prepared for standardized test. Source C, appears to be a work book to get 4 year olds ready for test that give 18 year olds panic attacks. The cover itself shows what's wrong with such a system. First of all it is timed. Children are almost always capable and ready for new challenges, but according to such test, only the “gifted” few, those who perform the fastest without error, deserve enrichment. Others are either declared “average” or “remedial”. These student will be forced to endure simple repetitive, and in the case of the below average unwanted bitterness and pity. Secondly, there is only one right answer. In life, there is never truly one write answer. In fact, when taking test, when students get something that's not a choice, they have to decide which one is the “better” choice. Lastly, we are turn adults out so fast, we can’t wait a year or two to let children enjoy childhood. Studies have shown that there is a direct link between student who score higher on standardized test and risk of hypertension in early adulthood. Standardize test are quite literally killing our youth. Strict science class give children the one write conclusion, before so they know what to expect, taking the true sense of discovery out of the picture. It not only takes out the ability for students to feel accomplished, but also takes the point out of experimenting. We experiment to answer the question or solve a problem. Why try when the answer is there for you in black and white? Also, relating to the first paragraphs, students in art class are taught how they should look at art. There is a theory that all humans perceive colors differently, and by forcing the association of certain pigment with certain moods and emotions takes away the differentiation of our personalities.If this system is allowed to continue to thrive, we may all become a group of carbon copies, listlessly moving through time and space nearing our end, without ever really thinking a single, personal thought of our
