Standardized testing is used in most schools and institutes. In standardized testing, all test takers are required to answer the same set of questions. Many people consider standardized testing as an objective way of grading a student. Even though most schools make students take standardized tests, it does not measure the knowledge of a student.Standardized tests are an unfair measure of students intelligence and academic performance; therefore, the tests should be changed drastically or abandoned. As someone who is going to college to become a teacher and will be involved in education in a few years, I will have to prepare my students for standardized testing. Such as the ACT and the SAT. Many individuals point out many problems with the standardized testing and state how unfair it is. They believe it gives accurate results on the students learning, and accurate is a way of evaluating what a student does or does not know across areas like math, reading, and writing. Teachers and even so parents believe it allows them to see how their students is doing, compared to the other students in their class, school, city, and country. They believe these tests are important because it shows students problems in certain areas and shows them what the teachers need to focus more on. They believe these tests are important because everything on the tests are very important and needs to be taught. It gives the students a picture of their progress in the significant areas like math, reading, writing.
