The market for replacement ribbons in typewriters has not turned to finding replacement ink cartridges for printers. Being tethered to a rotary phone by a spiral chord is no longer necessary with the creation of the smart phone, and waiting days or weeks for an envelope to be delivered has now been eliminated by the almost instant delivery of emails and text messages. Because the capabilities of office equipment are rapidly being replaced by an updated version which is more powerful and has more options, Staples, Inc. has no option but to continuously adapt as the need for product capabilities and efficiency
