In the day and age of shopaholics and fashion trends changing every week, looking into the history of JcPenney, a retail giant, is long overdue. JcPenney was founded by James Cash Penney. Before opening his highly successful retail store, he first worked as a sales person for the Golden Rule Mercantile Company ("J.C. Penney Company,”). After three years as a salesman, the founder of the company and his partner promoted Mr. Penney to a manager and partner of the company. Ultimately, this prompted him to opening his own branch of Golden Rule with a cash only policy which bankers in the area were sure that his plan would fail.
For the class project, I chose to research Hobby Lobby. Hobby Lobby interests me because the owners run their business according to their beliefs. When laws go in effect that counter their beliefs, they fight for their beliefs and stand up to the government. David and Barbara Green stand up for what they believe in and run one of the top three craft and hobby stores in the nation. David and Barbara Green are the founders and owners of Hobby Lobby.
ASOS has a competitive advantage over other retail shops as the customers only have to go online to shop whereas many retail shops don’t have an online shop and those that do may not always show all of the products for sale. As ASOS is an online company, the consumers will find all items by ASOS online. In addition to this, ASOS offers differentiation meaning that the organisation offers something different that competitors may not. For example, ASOS offers a vegan range which will help to cater for all people whereas some other retail shops may not. This will expand the client base of ASOS and also increase the profits for each year which may mean that if ASOS offers different things to their competitors, then ASOS may make a larger overhead
Print advertisements are very important today because they show people the importance of a product, or even the knowledge of doing something right or wrong. A website called, Smallbusiness.chron.com states, “Small companies using print in advertising can expect their advertisements to last longer.” A long lasting message is what companies strive for since they want to get their point across and are typically very informative. Of course, getting the point across is the goal in all marketing company departments, but sometimes commercials on television are not enough. Print advertisements leave more of a lasting impression on someone’s mind which leads them to wonder.
The Hobby Lobby case is an interesting one. I agree but also disagree with the decision made. I disagree because it seems like a way to discriminate against women. The business is essentially trying to make the decision on what is right for that individuals body regarding contraception and if and when they want to conceive a child. “This ruling ignores the scientific evidence showing that the health security of millions of American women is strengthened by access to these crucial services.”

The home front during the Civil War was an active environment dedicated to supporting the military war effort. Many things took place on these home fronts, Everyone had to do their part to support the brave troops fighting in the war. For example, the role of women increased as volunteers began to desert their businesses to serve in the war. Women began to run shops and businesses while the men were away, which helped them thrive in the midst of chaos. Because these factories were run by these women, more food, supplies, and clothing were able to be made for soldiers.
Home Depot had a clear understanding of its various stakeholders and developed a strong commitment and relationship with its employees, customers, suppliers, communities, and the environment. Home Depot believed that most environmental groups were extremely powerful and had legitimate concerns for protecting the environment. Despite Home Depots belief that environmental groups had an important degree of power, they were not primary stakeholders for Home Depot. Environmental groups can be extremely vocal and they can damage a company because they often encounter negative press, but ultimately they had no impact on whether Home Depot would or would not survive as a company in the economy. He was rounding home plate, the small crowd was going wild. The Lombardi 's Pizza little league team had just won their first game; my mother was ecstatic, my father was underwhelmed per usual. I wasn’t aware of either of those facts though, because I had been sitting behind the dugout reading to all of my friend’s little siblings “Boo to You, Winnie the Pooh”. Most 9 year old boys ignored the bored younger siblings that were forced to be present at the team’s games - but I wanted them to be happy, and in turn I knew I would be happy. I’ve always loved people, my earliest memory is from when I was 5 years old and noticed a woman with twins.
Being a candidate for the National Honor Society is a tremendous honor for me. Since I began high school, it has been a goal of mine to be a part of this amazing organization. Being involved in my school and community has always been important to me, and any chance I get to further my involvement is great. I believe that NHS is the perfect opportunity for me to serve others and help better our community. I understand that a member of NHS shows qualities of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
The play An Inspector Calls was written by John Boynton Priestly, it was set in 1912 and the play begins in the Birling household. An Inspector Calls is about a murder mystery for a young woman named Eva Smith. There is an Inspector, who is named Inspector Goole who plays a vital part in the play and has caused intrigue for many audiences.
In addition to the grade point average of students, an individual should be respectable, intelligent, and mature to gain acceptance into National Honor Society. National Honor Society is a widely renowned group that only the top candidates should be admitted to, not just for academic achievement, but for being a genuinely good person. Not only do I believe that I portray these qualities, but I have much more to offer, therefore, I should be considered for admission. Scholarship can be shown in many ways, and is not only limited by grade point average. To me, scholarship can be defined as someone excelling in school by trying their hardest and making an attempt to educate themselves to the best of their ability.
I hope this letter finds you well. It has been a while since I have last heard from you. Mom and I miss you here in the home front and we are waiting for the day the war finally ends and you get to come home. While thinking about how hard you and the other soldiers are fighting for us and our country, we wanted to find things we can do on the home front to make things better for when you all return. I know it must be extremely difficult in the war front, but I want you to know that all of us here are doing everything we can to help our nation win the war and bring our troops home.

What is fascinating about a perfectly competitive industry is that the barriers that prevent new firms from entering the industry are flexible; that means there are minor barriers of entry as well as little or no barriers to exit the industry (Rittenberg & Tregarthen, 2009). Additionally, buyers and sellers have all the necessary information to make a decision to buy or sell a product.
