Food of the Gods, Starship Troopers, and A Legend of the Future all share common characteristics where the audience can attempt to redefine science fiction. In relation with the three books, there is a strive of perfection affected by human emotions, an idea of dissociation, and a relationship between technology and humankind. To begin with, Food of the Gods is able to express the idea of perfection through boomfood. Herakleophorbia was the next big thing, “a vista of enormous possibilities” as scientist Bensington remarked. In Starship Troopers, Robert A. Heinlein shows military strategy at its peak as well as having one of the most efficient militaries. With the rule of a person must earn their citizenship (voting) being in place, a student had stated “It's a reward. Something the federation gives you for federal service”. It shows the relationship of the military and government known as formalized military junia. With this in mind, most people in the book join the military with the mentality of what's best for their country “...he places the welfare of the group ahead of personal advantage.” Even though they have the perfect military strategy and put the group ahead of themselves, Johnny was always a deep thinker even when emotions couldn't get in the way of work. Just like the military strategy, in A Legend of the Future shares the same idea of the group above themselves. Since the beginning, once astronauts turned 16 they are gathered and trained together for life to have the same frame of mind, “ its member agree on all the fundamentals and disagree on everything else.” Due to this, they restrain their feelings and emotions especially when encountered in dangerous situation where they are
