As a member of the admissions board for the United States University, I would like to nominate ten very accomplished individuals for acceptance into this year’s class. These ten individuals have shown their dedication in their respective fields and offer to better not only the university, but put their efforts to work together for the betterment of society. Along with these ten nominations, I have created a two person waitlist should any of the ten choose not to accept their acceptance and attend United States University this coming fall. The ten applicants I nominate for acceptance: Clarence Darrow, Charles Dawes, Babe Ruth, Robert Jones, Harold Grange, Langston Hughes, Ernest Hemingway, Duke Ellington, Charles Lindbergh, and Margaret Sanger.

Over the summer school officials met to review the mission statement of previous years and decided it was time for a change. Our previous mission statement was "The Mission of Charlotte Valley Central School District is to create a learning environment that challenges and motivates each student to become a self-sufficient, cooperative, responsible and attributing member of a global society while encouraging each to achieve his or her highest potential. " This was felt to be too long, busy, too much and not direct enough. So the officials worked together to create a new statement around the six core beliefs. Students first, trust, ownership, communication, collaboration, and growth mindset.
When someone says the name Condoleezza Rice the first thing that comes to most minds is the first black woman to serve as Secretary of State. Serving under both the George Bush and George W. Bush administrations she was once the presidential hopeful for the republican party. Condoleezza Rice may have an extensive political resume but she has always made education a clear priority to her. Growing up in Birmingham Alabama during the civil rights movement she experienced firsthand the effects of segregation but still became the success she is today. At the age of 19 she graduated from the University of Denver with her Bachelors in political science and then went on to earn her masters from there Notre Dame University and in 1981 received her
Ania is a sixth grade student attending Linden STEAM Academy. She participates in a special education Practical Academic Community Education (PACE) substantially separate classroom for the majority of her school day. I am very excited to apply to Ronald Reagan. I have fallen in love with the school after seeing it first hand. The school is very pleasant and comfortable. I have met many alumnus from Ronald Reagan who have only positive things to say about the school and its courses. My friend, Margarita Sanchez, is a former student of Ronald Reagan who is encouraging me to attend the school because of its great academic curriculum.
My interest in Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. sparked when I met Sheila Hudson. At the time I had no idea that she was an active member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. What I saw in Shelia Hudson was a smart, accomplished, proficient women who completely shattered all of my preconceived expectations of what I thought a sorority girl was supposed to be like.
Today I am deeply humbled to be recognized as a potential member of the National Honor Society. To me this means I have exemplified everything you look for in a student who goes above and beyond, not just in academics but in athletics, the community and at home as well. I have not taken this selection for granted, as I believe would be a great asset to the National Honor Society. I am hardworking, honest, reliable and quite charismatic too. I hold all the qualities required by the distinguished NHS like leadership, service, character and scholarship.
