For decades, roller coasters have served to provide thrills for riders of all ages, sizes, and levels of daring. From cute kiddie coasters, to seemingly deadly contraptions of wood and metal, these staples of enginuity provide entertainment and excitement for all to enjoy. Roller coasters provide a great bonding experience for family, adults, and children alike. However, even the most devout coaster lovers over the globe can be found contemplating the oldest question in amusement park history: which is better steel or wooden roller coasters? When talking about roller coasters each type has a very distinct look and feel. Modern steel roller coasters are fluid creations of sleek tubing inlaid with small rails for the almost futuristic looking cars to gracefully glide on at high speeds soaring over the ground below. No matter if its diving, swooping, looping or spiraling, steel coasters convey a very extensive range of motions and impressions. Aesthetically a steel coaster offers a superior design as to that of a wooden one. Steel coasters can accomplish inversions and maneuvers unmatchable by that of a simple wooden one. A steel coaster can blow away a wooden coaster with nearly double the record speed. Wooden roller coaster simply cannot keep up with the sheer speed, design, and overall physics of steel roller coasters. Classic wooden roller coasters may offer a variation in ride, but lack many necessary qualities held by those made of steel.
