The Future is in our Hands
Each year thousands of Americans die due to cancer and a number of many other diseases. With that being said there is a way to help lower the amount of Americans lost per year and aid in better treatment for diseases and injuries. The answer is stem cells. Stem cells are known as the body’s “master cells” because of their power to develop into many different cell types and replenish lost or damaged cells. Over the years scientist and researchers have searched and conducted in experiments to potentially find cures and treatments for terminal and complicated diseases. This can lead to preventing health issues before they arise. According to the Green Garage, an ECO friendly blog, “By understanding everything about human cells, scientists and researchers would also have a better grasp and understanding of how diseases work, or what damages the cells that would lead to illness. Whatever data gathered in the research will arm the world with the right weapon to combat disease, extending life expectancy to a certain extent and reducing incidents of hospitalization” (Green Garage Blog). For instance, this could help prevent against a world wide epidemic. By studying the cells scientist can get a great insight to what goes on within the cells and what causes the negative changes within them as well. They then could find ways to stop these changes from happening or alter the cells into something better. This would be great for human health because it is better to find the problem sooner in order to prevent it while it is still not that big of a problem. It is important that stem cells are studied in labs in order to entirely know about them and what they are capable of to potentially solve many health
