Stephen King one of the most profound horror movie screen writers of all time knows just about all there is to know about the subject. He believes humans subject themselves to seeing these horror movies and intense violence. There is not much proving him wrong in face, he is quite right. Every time a new movie comes out that has the genre as horror people are lined up outside the door to see it. Humans try to see how far they can be pushed before they break and submit to the demons they are watching. There have been hundreds or horror movies made and people still keep buying tickets to see them. As if they don’t know what is going to happen. Even if they do know what is going to happen they buy the tickets just for the scares. “When we pay our four or five bucks to seat ourselves at tenth-row cinema in a theater showing a horror movie we are daring the nightmare” (King 295). King is referring to the theaters where all the movie premieres and releases are being held with people buying their tickets and finding the seats. King asks the question as to why people do it. To question peoples reasoning for it. To then leads him to answer himself. “Some of the reasons are simple and obvious. To show that we can, that we are not afraid, that we can ride this roller coaster” (King 295).
