The day started off by the sweat sparkle of the usual Texas heat, today though it did not bother Anastasia. She woke up that morning with a giant perky grin reaching from ear to ear. For as today she celebrated three years of a relationship with her high school sweetheart, John. Anastasia had stayed up the entire night before to plan her best outfit, something to catch his attention. He messaged her to “prepare for an unforgettable night”. Her heart nearly burst of excitement. By 5:00 Anastasia had finished her all dolled up routine and waited to get picked up. Minutes after the set to arrive time, she slowly became agitated from all the waiting. John’s lack of early arrival did not surprise her, even if it bothered her every time- she always expected it from him. Hours later the sunset came around just like Anastasia’s enthusiasm. The house Anastasia lives in is practically in the middle of nowhere, just a huge white palace surrounded by dirt. Cars occasionally drive by with obnoxious headlights, which made Anastasia aware of drivers. Her parents worked day to night, which left Anastasia home alone most days. Bedrooms with large windows made up the house, for all to see in the clear view. Suddenly, an old rusty ford pickup truck drove in her direction. She did not know anyone with such vehicle. Her parents hardly had friends visit, so the idea of an odd truck in front of her home provoked her.
